Howard Johnson Jr. is a trained pro.  Graduate of Metro Business College, and worked under Bachman Upholstery in Brentwood.  at Allan Littles Upholstery, St.Louis.  even working in the family owned , Midtown Furniture Renovators. Refinishing Business, Taught me the skills to restore fine furniture and Antiques..  Mr. Johnson was employed by U S Quality Furniture Services, as a Craftsman. Covering Mo.-Il in a 300 mile radius, for many fine furniture retailers. Like Ethan Allan Furniture. We are members of the National Assn of Professional Upholsters. N.A.P.U  The National Assn of Trim Shops.

After operating a Upholstery business, you will need to help train some employees. to ensure Quality control in our workroom we only use the very Best craftspeople.  We even train for the Veterans Admin- and do classes at Florissant Valley community college- spring 2011- 2012 Fall season.   Note: That classes at Florissant Valley, only teach simple techiques. seven sat classes, for a simple small project, I Teach upholstery for a career, or starting your own business !  Training at my workroom, Flexible hours and, days. We give back by helping those who need furniture.  Often we have customers who find themselves moving to smaller homes, and have more than  they need. With donations of furniture we help families, that have lost their belongings. this is something we have been called to do. Being a good steward !

Howard Johnson's has always believed in saving by using some items, used to restore furniture. Horsehair ifs its re-useable, we find its the best padding when restoring antiques. If we can re-use customers foam cushions, that the customers wants to keep!  we will wrap in dacron batting, after steaming to its former size.  we never ever throw out screws, or hardware. we save old legs-arms, yes even the frames.  we have a supply of Eco-fabrics- foam, padding.  we also help by buying some select scrap foam, which we use in decks under the foundations, We shred all new foam scraps, for pillows. and reuse plastic furniture bags. Even old fabric books are used in making quilts.
